technology was driven by customer demand in both the automotive
and telecommunications industries for a Durable "SOFT TOUCH"
SWITCH THAT FEATURES SHARPLY DEFINED, CLEARLY ILLUMINATED
keypad legends. These unique keypads feature multiple layers
of dark and translucent silicone rubbers with laser-etched
keytop legends that are extremely durable.
PRECISE CONTRAST between the darker top layer
of each keypad and the tanslucent silicone layer below provides
uncomparably CLEAR AND EVEN KEYTOP LEGEND ILLUMINATION.
SUPERIOR RESISTANCE to abrasion and premium
quality appearance is passible because the legends on LL TYPE
keypads are recessed slightly below the keytop surface with
CONTROLLED LASER ETCHING. Keytop legend abrasion test data
verifies that LL TYPE legend durability far exceeds typical
paint and laser legends and screen-printed keytop legends.

The Ligo Rubber Contact series has a wide
range of high-performance parts with switching chips made
of conductive silicone rubber.
The SHP TYPE, one of the basic products in
the series, has a molded key top with alphanumeric letters
and icons printed on it. This series incorporates switching,
spring and button operation functions in a single rubber sheet.
This type of contact is now widely used in
various devices, such as TV and VCR remote controls, electric
calculators and telephones.
Also available is the SHP-EC TYPE, which has
a coated layer to improve the abrasion resistance of the printed
part as well as the touch feeling of the surface.
